DESCRIPTION:You have heard a lot about quantum computing and would like an
understandable introduction?\n\nYou would like to learn how quantum compu
ting can be used to tackle interesting problems like machine learning?\n\n
Then this two-day tutorial event is exactly for you!\n\nOur focus is to sh
ow how quantum computers are programmed today while providing the essentia
l math and physics background required to develop quantum algorithms. The
tutorial builds on our successful tutorials at ISC23 (half day)\, ISC24 (
full day)\, and SC 24 by extending and refining the parts challenging to t
he participants.\n\nTarget Audience:\n\nThe event is tailored for interest
ed students and scientists. No prior quantum computing\, quantum physics
or computer science knowledge is required. The only requirement is very ba
sic Python programming and basic linear algebra math (concept of a matrix
and a vector as well as matrix-vector products). \n\nCourse structure:\n\
nThe first part introduces basic ideas and examples of gate-based quantum
computing\, specifically designed for participants with no prior knowledge
.\n\nThe second part illustrates quantum classifiers\, such as the Variati
onal Quantum Classifier\, as an introduction to Quantum Machine Learning.
\n\nThe tutorial will use the Qiskit framework to show how complex quant
um algorithms can be constructed from available building blocks. As partic
ipants progress through this tutorial\, they will acquire practical insigh
ts into the complexities of quantum computing\, equipping them with knowle
dge and skills to explore the potential of quantum algorithms in their res
pective fields.\n\nThis course includes hands-on tutorials on the computer
cluster systems of the NHR centers.\n\nCourse format:\n\n\n	Talks: on-sit
e and online (Big Blue Button\, only web-browser needed)\n	Tutorials: only
on-site\n\n\nHow to register:\n\n\n	Please click "Apply for Participation
" below. However\, all on-site seats are taken. You can still register for
online participation. \n\n\nTravel Information:\n\n\n	The event will tak
 e place at GWDG\, Burckhardtweg 4\, 37077 Göttingen\, https://www.opens
 treetmap.org/?mlat=51.56072&mlon=9.95730#map=14/51.56072/9.95730\n	You can
  find travel instructions at https://gwdg.de/en/about-us/contact/location
 / and https://gwdg.de/en/about-us/contact/location/Anfahrt_GWDG_en.pdf\n
\n\nPlease note:\n\n\n	For the tutorial\, please bring your own laptop. No
special operating system is required. You can participate with Windows\,
macOS or some Linux-distribution. Please make sure that the wireless conne
ction of your laptop works (for example with eduroam). In case you don't h
ave access to eduroam\, we can provide wireless network connection during
the event.\n	The language of the event is English.\n	This course is free o
f cost for members of German universities or publicly-funded research inst
itutions in Germany. Please register the course using your university/inst
itution e-mail address.\n	We can't cover travel or accommodation costs of
participants.\n\n\nNote: the number of on-site seats is limited and the al
location of seats is done by the organizers.\n\nThis event is supported by
  the National High-performance Computing Alliance (NHR\, nhr-verein.de):\n
\n\n\nThis event is jointly organized by three NHR centers:\n\n\n	NHR-NORD
 @Göttingen\n	\n	Paderborn Center for Parallel Computing\n	\n	NHR@ZIB\n	\n
